| CCCApply transitions to CCCStart | The California Community Colleges are transitioning from CCCApply to CCCStart, bringing new tools to support students during the application process. CCCStart will give SRJC better visibility into applicants who have not completed identity verification and allow reminders to help them finish required steps. SRJC has used identity verification since Fall 2024 |
| Revised Welcome & Connect Center webpages | The revised Welcome & Connect Center website organizes information around the tasks students need to complete. Students can find shared districtwide information, then choose a location for services, contacts, and next steps. Visit the Welcome & Connect Center website. |
FAQ
- Q: How are prerequisites handled in Banner?
A: Problems with authorization codes overriding prerequisites have been corrected, and impacted students received support. Students do not lose credit locally at SRJC when they take courses out of sequence, but doing so may affect transfer to CSU or UC under those institutions’ requirements. Refer students with questions about course sequencing to a counselor.
- Q: Are corequisite support courses correctly linked to their main courses?
A: Admissions & Records and Scheduling worked with Ellucian to address a data conversion issue and simplify the process to help prevent related waitlist problems. Scheduling must properly link both courses so students are enrolled in—and, when necessary, dropped from—both courses together.
- Q: Are students able to enroll in 770 labs at multiple locations?
A: The timekeeper system was preventing students from enrolling in 770 labs at both the Santa Rosa and Petaluma locations. These are open-entry labs. IT is working on this issue, with Gregg Tilles leading the effort. For Spring 2027 and future terms, CRNs will be created with distinct schedule code values (e.g., “Tutoring” T01, “Tutoring” T02, etc.). This will bypass the “Duplicate Course” error students are currently receiving. Scheduling will implement these codes when building the schedule. For Fall 2026, there are four CRNs. Updating the schedule codes on three of the four CRNs should resolve the current issue. Gregg has been working on this, and the issue should now be resolved.
- Q: How is SRJC preparing for priority registration?
A: The calendar and criteria are available on the Spring Priority Schedule.
- Q: What help is available for students who cannot complete identity verification?
A: Identity verification became a requirement for all California Community College districts effective August 11, 2026. Admissions & Records can support students who lack the required technology, have technical difficulties with the verification tool, need additional review of identity documents, are under 18 and choose in-person verification with a parent or guardian, or participate through special admission pathways where automated verification or data sharing is unavailable.
- Q: Why are some students without a high school diploma receiving enrollment restrictions?
A: Students who indicate that they do not have a high school diploma are being automatically classified as “Adult Education Special Admit,” a classification generally used for Adult Dual Enrollment. They are receiving the same enrollment restrictions as high school dual enrollment students. The current workaround is to contact Admissions & Records to manually remove the HS Dual Enrollment Form restriction. IT submitted a ticket to address the underlying issue.
- Q: Can noncredit students enroll in the same course at different times?
A: Yes. Scheduling worked with Ellucian and is working with departments to implement a fix beginning with Spring 2027. Departments will be able to assign a distinct schedule type to each CRN for the same course, allowing students to enroll in more than one instance of that course
- Q: Where should I refer students who need help?
A: Refer students to the Welcome & Connect Center for personalized help with applying to SRJC, registration, adding or dropping classes, navigating Banner, and connecting with campus resources. The SIS Transition website provides updates, training resources, FAQs, and an Ask a Question Form under Get Help.
