Academic Affairs & Faculty Updates
Updates impacting instruction, Canvas, and scheduling
| 25 LIVE | Everyone should now have access to the new event management system called 25Live, which can be used to schedule events and instructional classes. If you have been trained in this system, please feel free to use it for these requests. If you would like training, please reach out to Zack Miranda. |
| Recorded Bear Cub Hub Training | If you missed the live Bear Cub Hub training session, you can now watch the recording. It is 50 minutes long and covers all the basic faculty tasks in the Bear Cub Hub. |
| Bear Cub Hub Training Course and Drop-in Support | Bear Cub Hub Canvas Course This self-paced training will walk you through the basics of the Cub Hub: logging in, navigating, accessing rosters, sending class emails, how waitlists work, how to add/drop, census, and submitting grades. Student Services Update
Updates impacting admissions, registration, and student support
| Bear Cub Email on Mobile Devices | Students receive time-sensitive waitlist and registration messages through their Bear Cub email. Encourage students to add this account to their iPhone or Android device so they do not miss important updates. Setup instructions are available on the Bear Cubs Email page under “Set up Google email in common email clients.” |
| Enrollment Activity Update | Registration activity remained strong this week. As of August 12, Summer 2026 enrollment was 10,549 students, compared with 11,647 in Summer 2025. Fall 2026 enrollment was 20,093 students, compared with 22,298 in Fall 2025. Student Services teams continue focused outreach and registration support as the fall term approaches. |
| Known Registration and Waitlist Issue in Cross-Listed Courses | A known Ellucian defect can affect registration and waitlisting for cross-listed courses. An individual CRN may appear to have open seats even when the combined enrollment maximum has been reached. In some cases, Banner directs students to the waitlist but then does not allow them to join it. Employees should not assume that a displayed open seat is available or promise a manual enrollment. Refer affected students to Admissions & Records so staff can review the combined capacity and waitlist order and determine whether any manual action is appropriate. |
| Placement Information Missing for Some Students | Some students may have blank placement information in Banner because an automated transfer of placement data from CCCApply was interrupted. Ellucian is working to restore the process and add the missing information, with completion expected by September 1 or sooner. In the meantime, employees who encounter missing placement information should direct students to the SRJC Guided Self-Placement website: https://assessment.santarosa.edu/math-english-guided-self-placement. Completing the placement process can help prevent registration or prerequisite delays. |
| What's Improving - Registration Receipts Are Working | Students were not receiving confirmation after registering for classes. Registration receipts are now working, and students should receive a confirmation listing the classes they are registered for. |
Student & Faculty Support Resources

| Students Needing Help with Registration or Enrollment | Faculty and staff are urged to refer students to the WCC so they can receive personalized support from our team. Direct students to the Welcome and Connect Center (WCC), where Student Services staff can assist with applying to SRJC, registration, adding or dropping classes, navigating Banner, and connecting students with campus resources.
