Hello everyone,
Please review the latest updates regarding our Student Information System Transition. New items are marked with ✨.
For all other questions, please go to the Student Information System website.
Global System Updates
Information relevant to all staff and faculty
| Topic | Details |
| CourseLeaf CIM Launch | The launch of CourseLeaf CIM (curriculum management) has been delayed until July 2026. As a result, the curriculum freeze will remain in place until then. We will begin inviting curriculum users to help beta-test in a test environment this June. |
| ✨ Bear Cub Hub Role Access | Academic deans, directors, and administrative assistants should verify in Bear Cub Hub support resources that their indicated access level is "Advisor" so they can view the appropriate information. If you can’t access “class lists”, you will need to put in a ticket for the Class List Administrator permission. |
✨ Course Search (Fall 2026 Improvement) | Fall 2026 course “Long Titles”, section comments, and student outcomes have been restored in Banner, improving course search functionality for students and staff. |
Academic Affairs & Faculty Update
Updates impacting instruction, Canvas, and Scheduling
| Topic | Details |
| ✨Canvas: Late Grade Submissions | If you teach and grade in Canvas and are unable to submit your final Spring 2026 grades before Friday, May 29, at 11:59 PM, please enter student grades manually for your course in the Faculty Portal. The 'Download Grades from Canvas' tool cannot be used in these cases. |
| Canvas Integration | Banner integration with Canvas will go live the week of June 1. At that time, all changes to Summer courses and enrollments should automatically be reflected within Canvas. |
| Early Start Courses | If your course starts before June 1 and you'll be using Canvas, please submit the Early-Start Course Request form to Distance Education. Enrollments in these Canvas courses will be static until Canvas is connected to Banner the week of June 1. |
| Canvas Sandboxes | If faculty need to begin working on Canvas course content before June 1, and do not have an available Sandbox, please submit the Canvas course development sandbox request form. This would allow an instructor to create content early and then copy that content into the course once it becomes available. This guide will walk you through the import process. |
| Scheduling Progress | The Scheduling Team is actively entering data into the new Banner system, with a current focus on Fall 2026 proofs and cleaning up Summer 2026 semester data. |
| Class End Times | Class end times in Banner will reflect the close of instruction before the passing period, rather than the end of the full-time block. |
| Attendance Accounting | Beginning with the Summer 2026 schedule, SRJC will transition to the Standardized Attendance Accounting Method for credit courses. Most credit classes will no longer require tracking positive attendance hours. |
| Faculty Load | Faculty instructional load is not currently available in Banner, but faculty can look it up |
| Instructor Approval/ Restricted Classes (Clarification) | For restricted classes, permit overrides must be completed individually. Batch enrollment is not available. |
Student Services Updates
Updates impacting admissions, registration, and student support
| Topic | Details |
| ✨ Summer Registration | As of the end of the first day of Open Registration for Summer 2026, total enrollment was 8,216 students (5,372 credit and 2,844 non-credit) compared to 8,365 students (5,994 credit and 2,371 non-credit) at the same time last summer. |
| ✨ Fall Registration Metrics | Despite the recent technical challenges, Fall 2026 Priority 1 enrollment is actually tracking ahead of Fall 2025! This is a direct reflection of your incredible manual efforts and dedication to our students. |
| ✨ Banner Record Locking | Banner locks student profiles when a user is in SFAREGS (Registration), preventing others from assisting the student. Staff should use SFAREGQ (Query View) to perform lookups without locking the record. |
| ✨ Dual Enrollment | Dual enrollment students are no longer required to reapply through CCCApply each term, as long as they maintain continuous enrollment from one term to the next. Students will only need to submit the Dual Enrollment form each term. |
| ✨ Identity Verification (ID.me) | Clarification: If a student verifies their identity in person, they should not be required to complete a Student Data Change Form. That form is only needed when identity is not verified in person. (Note: Athlete identity holds are being coordinated separately with Admissions leadership). |
| ✨ Self-Service Access Issues (Intermittent) | Students may encounter intermittent dashboard or “503” errors in Self-Service. Advise students to refresh/reload or try another device; if issues persist, capture details and escalate. |
| ✨ CCCApply Delays | Ongoing CCCApply outages and processing delays continue to affect application loading into Banner. Applications missing identity verification may not load until verification is completed or handled in person. A&R is actively working through a large backlog of manual reviews. |
| ✨ Rock Enroll / Welcome Center | The Rock Enroll site has been updated, but no new on-campus registration events are currently scheduled now that Fall Priority Registration is underway. Please direct students to general Welcome & Connect resources as the primary entry point for assistance. |
